Four days and counting...

So here we are...only four days away from our trip to Hungary! This week is filled with cleaning (the house and clothes), trimming (the yard and bushes), and checking things off of my ever-expanding "list of things to do before we leave."

We are excited and nervous about meeting our son. But we have one more story to share with you about how God is ordering our steps.

Last week our son's foster mother "friended" both of us on Facebook. She sent me an email (she used a translation software to translate from Hungarian into English) to tell us how happy they are that we will be coming. She encouraged us by telling us we shouldn't worry about our son accepting us. He is a loving little boy, and she's sure he will warm up to us right away. She then offered to send us updated pictures of him. She not only sent us pictures, but also a link to a video clip so we could see him in action at a special program he was involved with at his school. What fun it was to watch him dancing and having a great time!

Having this contact with the foster mother has been wonderful for us! We have been so concerned about how they will feel about giving up this little boy. We've been praying for their hearts and minds as the time grows closer. But the Lord took care of that concern by having the foster mother contact us directly. She has assured us that they are fine, and are happy we will be coming to adopt him and bring him home with us. How cool is that?  : )

So, now we just keep counting down the days until we can leave. On the one hand Saturday can't come soon enough for me. On the other hand, I still have more things to check off on my "to do" list! I'm praying everything will fall into place and we won't be too frazzled by the time we board the plane Saturday afternoon.

  1. Ditto, Aunt Jackie. What a wonderful answer to that prayer for those foster parents. We'll be looking forward to hearing more and seeing photos of all three of you.
