But this past Sunday was a special day for Bruce. It was his first "REAL" Father's Day, celebrating with a "REAL" child. Marci didn't totally understand about what Father's Day is, but he did know that it was a special day for his Dad and Grandpop and he was thrilled to help make it as special as possible.
Sunday morning Marci woke up early (as usual) and came out with his eyes shining brightly. "Dad?", he said. "Dad's still in bed, sweetie," I answered. Then Marci mimed/signed to me that he wanted to go get the gift that he had hidden away for Bruce and bring it out. I told him to go ahead and he ran into his room giggling. He could hardly contain himself when I told him we were going to make Dad breakfast and then give him his presents. He tried his best to wait patiently through the entire meal, but he kept giving hints to Bruce as we sat eating.
